Design Reality is happy to announce the appointment of two new staff to their ever increasing design team.
We welcome Jonny Marchbank (Left) & Josh Moffat (Right) to the team, as they take up their latest design posts.
Jonny Marchbank joins the team with over 7 years’ design experience working in the consumer electronics sector. Having worked for companies such as Dyson & RFD Beaufort, Jonny brings a strong understanding of industrial design and commercial product awareness.
During Jonny’s previous post at Dyson, he was influential in delivering two high profile projects, the Dyson Airblade Tap and Dyson Cool™ AM07 Tower Fan which he helped bring to market. This role saw Jonny involved with the New Category Team as a Lead Design Engineer, where he was tasked with defining new technology and markets for upcoming Dyson projects, which had to be realized from a blank canvas.
Jonny assumes the title of Lead Designer at Design Reality, whereby he will be responsible for leading project initiatives, liaising with clients and ensuring projects are delivered as efficiently and effectively as possible. Upon accepting the role Jonny describes “I like to think I’m a pragmatic designer, so I work practically and with realism – in my opinion these are two key characteristics that helps define a good designer and specifically these traits will help mould me into a successful Lead Designer at Design Reality.”
Also joining Jonny as a new recruit, is Josh Moffat who takes up the role as Industrial designer. Josh has been appointed to help support the design team and offer his experienced knowledge surrounding product branding and engineering. Previously working for engineering companies such as Parker Hannifin and Hydratron, Josh holds a wealth of design expertise, even given his youthful age.
Independently, Josh has also grown a strong portfolio of branding, product and graphic design projects for international clients such as Louvre Hotels, Nick Munro and Lotusier Interiors. Josh also manages his own surf company, Airwave Surfboards, which continues to attract a high level of interest. “For me, the most effective designers are those who can apply their skills to any challenge, be it a product, a brand, something highly technical or even a surfboard. The diversity of projects at Design Reality is exciting, I’m looking forward to new challenges.”
As Design Reality’s services are increasingly growing in demand, both Jonny and Josh’s appointments will greatly help support the efforts of the design team and ensure that we are critically meeting project deadlines and offering our clients the best design knowledge available today. Welcome to the team guys!
