Our newest Product Designer, Amy Parry, brings a wealth of product design and CAD experience to the team.
1. What do you do at Design Reality?
I joined Design Reality in September 2021 as a Product Designer. My role involves working on projects to solve design problems. My daily tasks vary quite a lot from Ideation, CAD modelling, rapid prototyping to design testing.
Being new to the company, I am very excited about my future at Design Reality and getting to know the Team!
2. What did you do you before working at Design Reality?
During my Degree in Product Design Engineering at Liverpool John Moores University, I completed a placement year at SolidWorks reseller SolidSolutions as an Application Engineer. During my time there I greatly developed my CAD skills through technical support and leading training courses.
After completing my degree, I worked at Ifor Williams Trailers as Engineering Buyer, where I improved on my engineering knowledge for manufacturing as I worked to implement new design projects for the production line.
3. What has been the most interesting project you’ve worked on so far?
So far, I’ve most enjoyed designing and manufacturing a functioning eco smart water tap to monitor and reduce household water usage. This product allows the user to reduce their water consumption and track monthly water costs.
4. Describe yourself in 3 words.
I would say Adventurous as I like the outdoors and trying new things. Creative, as I enjoy implementing new ideas in and out of the office. And passionate when it comes to my work and hobbies.
5. What do you enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy cycling and badminton. I’ve also recently taken up rock climbing and hiking!
