Defense – Scott Sight
Since the 1990s, firefighters have used hand-held thermal imaging cameras to see through the thick smoke they encounter. Advancements in electronics technology created an opportunity for us to reduce component size and design the award-winning in-mask thermal imaging system, Scott Sight, providing unrivalled situational intelligence.
Medical – ProMOTION
Our electronics, medical and production teams worked with Swellaway to design, develop and manufacture a ground-breaking sports therapy device to treat musculoskeletal injuries.
Partnering with physiotherapy experts from Manchester Metropolitan University and Central Lancashire University, our engineers were able to make truly revolutionary break-throughs in portable, targeted therapy.
Industrial – ISO Certified
Independent regulatory testing provides consumers and companies with a level of reassurance that a product is manufactured up to a good standard and will work in the way it is intended. For some industries, including medical and healthcare, regulatory testing – such as that done under the Indernational Organization for Standardization (ISO) – can be mandatory.
At Design Reality, we are certified under ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 13485 for the design, production and servicing of medical devices.

Consumer – TOCA Social
TOCA, an international football/tech experience company, reached out to Design Reality to help develop some pivotal aspects of the world’s first arcade-style immersive football experience for their upcoming TOCA Social centres. Their vision being to combine a social dining setting with a fun, football-focused, technology-enabled, night-out experience. Having developed the bones of the system already, TOCA approached Design Reality to help with a number of practical design aspects of the project – such as automatic ball retrieval, screen development and camera protection.
Our team got to work, utilising 3d-modelling, our in-house test facilities and decades of industrial product design expertise. As a result we were able to successfully deliver on all requests.
