Design Reality has been awarded its second Red Dot Award in recognition of product design excellence, for developing the revolutionary two-way filtering half mask respirator – the Easimask 200R – which has CE, UKCA and AU/NZ certification.
The Easimask 200R is the first UK made, two-way filtering, reusable half mask respirator featuring a clear, anti-fog speech recognition window.
Created in collaboration with Full Support Healthcare Ltd, the leading RPE supplier to the NHS, the newly award-winning respirator overcomes many pain-points of conventional FFP3 single-use and reusable respirators in healthcare.
Two-way filtration
Unlike other reusable respirators – the Easimask 200R has no exhalation valve and filters air breathed in and out, affording protection to the wearer and from them in cases of asymptomatic transmission – such as influenza or COVID.
Clearer communication
Being in hospital is often a troubling time for a patient and for those with speech, hearing or language difficulties all the more so. Traditional filtering facepieces obscure the mouth making it hard to communicate, particularly for those that need to read lips. The Easimask 200R combats this with a clear anti-fog speech recognition window, so that patients and colleagues can clearly see the wearer’s lips.
A greener alternative
Swapping from single-use disposable FFP2 or FFP3 respirators to the reusable Easimask 200R can reduce associated RPE waste by as much as 70% for your average hospital. Furthermore, being made entirely in the UK from recyclable materials, the Easimask 200R has a significantly smaller carbon footprint when compared to other respirators which are mostly made in China.
